Adults who have been baptized, received Eucharist and are actively practicing their faith are invited to complete their initiation. All adults who participate must have graduated from high school.
The process begins with an interview to determine readiness to prepare. Part of that discernment is to determine your foundational understanding of the Church and Church teaching, as well as your spiritual life and practice. Together, we decide what foundational understanding you may need.
Immediate sacramental preparation includes a day time retreat, six sessions, and a service experience. For more information, submit an inquiry to Brian Lennox, Coordinator for Adult Programs- firstname.lastname@example.org.
Confirmation Requisites :: Foundational Catechesis
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston requires that all candidates for the sacrament of Confirmation have some level of foundational catechesis prior to preparing for the sacrament.This foundation is based on the age and capacity of the candidate. Coordinators will work with you to determine that foundation.
A sponsor for Confirmation must be an actively practicing Catholic adult who has received all the Sacraments of Initiation. If a candidate does not have a sponsor, there are Sts. Simon and Jude parishioners who are honored to companion candidates. This can be arranged at the time of the interview. Sponsors are asked to attend all sessions if possible.
Please send in verification of your sacrament of Baptism by completing the Baptismal Authentication Form. If you were not baptized at SSJ, we will need a copy of your baptismal certificate with the form.
