About

Opening the Holy Door: Hope-Filled Scripture Reflections from St. Peter's Basilica

Every twenty-five years, pilgrims from all over the world flock to Rome for a Jubilee year to witness the opening of a special Holy Door made of bronze at St. Peter's Basilica and to receive a special blessing. Scripture teacher and veteran tour guide Joan Watson examines the sixteen panels of the Holy Door, and our salvation story they depict -- guiding readers to pray and reflect upon the deeper meaning of these images through the lens of scripture. Come embark on an armchair pilgrimage from home, these reflections serve as spiritual companions as we seek answers and hope in a fractured world.
