Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children's Liturgy of the Word provides a nurturing and engaging space where our youngest members can experience the beauty of Scripture.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is fully active and conscious participation in ritual prayer with the same readings that the adults will hear every Sunday, just in a separate space on a level that the children will understand. Along with a reflection of the Gospel, the Creed, and prayers of the faithful, our children will grow in their understanding of the sacred Scriptures. The children will then return to their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
We need enthusiastic adults and teens to lead and/or assist the Sunday Children’s Liturgy of the Word at either the 9:30 and 11:30 masses. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to say or are hesitant about any of the readings or the reflection—all lessons will be given to you—we just need people with a willing heart to serve our kiddos!
In addition to leaders and assistants, we could also use children to read at CLOW. It’s a great way to serve their parish, even in the lower grades.
CLOW meets with the children every week during the school year and twice per month during the summer.
