VOCATIONS: A call to Serve

"Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." -Matthew 19:21

Jesus calls us, as his disciples, to a new way of life—the Christian way of life—of which stewardship is part. But Jesus does not call us as nameless people in a faceless crowd. He calls us individually, by name. Each one of us has a personal vocation. God intends each one of us to play a unique role in carrying out the divine plan. Christ calls each of us to be stewards of our personal vocations, which we receive from God.

Professional Vocation: serving the Church by bringing the Good news into the work place.

•Ministerial Vocation: serving the Church in a leadership role that requires a lifestyle commitment.

•Religious Vocation: serving the Church through Holy Orders or one of the religious orders.

Listen!  What is God calling you to do for Him?  Is God calling you to the priesthood or other consecrated life?

If you are starting to discern your future and asking yourself in what direction God is shepherding your life, there are resources available to help you begin the journey.
