SSJ University

SSJ University is a unique adult faith formation series at Sts. Simon & Jude that invites knowledgeable speakers—clergy, theologians, and experienced lay leaders—to guide us through topics that deepen our understanding of the Catholic faith.

Held over a few engaging sessions, each series is designed to help participants not only learn more about Church teachings, Scripture, or theology, but also apply that knowledge to everyday life. Whether it’s unpacking the Catechism, exploring Church history, or diving into Scripture, SSJ University offers an accessible way for adults to grow intellectually and spiritually.

Open to all, this program is perfect for anyone seeking to strengthen their foundation of faith and build community with others on the same journey.

8/20: Jubilee in Scriptures - Discover the biblical roots of the Jubilee, from its origins in Leviticus as a time of rest, restoration, and freedom, to Jesus’ proclamation of “the year of the Lord’s favor” as its ultimate fulfillment.

8/27- The Jubilee Pilgrimage - We will delve into the Catholic tradition of the Jubilee Year, starting with the first Catholic Jubilee in 1300, particularly emphasizing the spiritual significance of the jubilee pilgrimage, featuring a physical and/or spiritual pilgrimage to Rome to pass through the Holy Doors of the four Major Basilicas.
