Stewardship Introduction to Stewardship Stewardship of Time ACTS in Action Plan Activities Communities & Opportunities Stewardship of Talent Ministries Councils “Once one chooses to become a disciple of Jesus, stewardship is not an option.” - Bishop John J. McRaith Introduction to Stewardship Our Pilgrim Journey We are all pilgrims journeying toward our true home — the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is not distant or abstract; it is here, breaking into our world, and fulfilled in heaven. Yet along the way, the world tugs at us. Sin distracts us. Comfort tempts us. We forget who we are and where we’re going. But the truth remains: we are created for holiness, called to be saints. To be holy is to walk with Christ, to become His disciples, and as we grow, to be sent as His apostles. The path is simple: take the next step, grow in discipleship, share the Gospel, and become an apostle. Living as Stewards Once one chooses to become a disciple of Jesus, stewardship is not optional. Discipleship requires the surrender of ourselves—through grace and choice—to Jesus Christ. We Cannot Control Everything We must place our trust in Jesus, who guides us through uncertainty and calls us to live faithfully. We Do Not Own Anything All we have is a gift from God. We are called to be good stewards of what has been entrusted to us. Next Steps Stewardship is more than giving — it is a way of life, a way of love, a way of surrender. It calls us to ask: How will I give my time to God? How will I share my talents to bless others? How will I use my treasure to build His Kingdom? The answer is generosity: giving not only from what we have, but from who we are. As Pope Benedict taught: “The only way of bringing our personal talents and abilities to fruition for eternity is to share them with our brethren.” Together, let us take the next step… on this pilgrim journey to the Kingdom of God. Types of Stewardship TIME How am I using my time to grow in my faith? Commit to prayer, worship, and community life through a personal and family “Rule of Life.” Next Steps TALENT How am I using my talents to serve others? Discover your gifts, join a ministry, and step into your unique apostolate of evangelization. Next Steps TREASURE How am I using my resources to build God’s Kingdom? Learn to give with trust and generosity, moving toward the biblical call to tithe. Next Steps

- Stewardship | Sts. Simon and Jude
Stewardship What is Stewardship? Stewardship is more than a program — it is a way of life. Once we choose to become disciples of Jesus, stewardship is not optional. A true disciple recognizes that everything we are and everything we have is a gift from God. In gratitude, we offer our time, our talents, and our treasure back to the Lord to build His Kingdom. This “Stewardship Way of Life” is rooted in trust, generosity, and joy as we live out our call to be Christ’s disciples. TAKE THE NEXT STEP Record what you are dping today and see what you plan to do. As disciples, we commit to spending time with God and His people so that our lives are rooted in prayer, community, learning, and service. Ways to live this out: Adoration – Daily prayer and time with the Lord in the Eucharist. Community – Active participation in parish life and fellowship. Theology – Ongoing formation through study, scripture, and catechesis. Service – Using our time to serve others and witness Christ through first serve ministries. First step: Commit to a personal or family Rule of Life (Spiritual Fitness Plan) that keeps faith at the center of your schedule. ACTS Opportunities Stewardship of Talent God has given each of us unique talents to be used in His service. Stewardship of talent means discerning our apostolates—the concrete ways we live out our vocation and use our gifts to make disciples. Ways to live this out: Discover your personal apostolates as part of your vocation. Join or help form a parish apostolate (Parent, Young Professional, Business, Stephen Ministry, etc.). Share your skills in ministries or service roles. Live a communal Rule of Life with others in mission. Use your talents intentionally for evangelization. Role progression: Participant → Minister → Shepherd → Apostle → Consultant. Ministries Stewardship of Treasure All that we possess is entrusted to us by God. Stewardship invites us to give generously and sacrificially, not just from what we have left over, but from a spirit of gratitude and trust. Steps toward generosity: Planned Giver – Give intentionally and regularly (set up online giving). Priority Giver – Make your offering a budget priority. Percentage Giver – Know what percent of income you give and grow it. Progressive Giver – Increase giving each year by at least 1%. Tither – Strive toward the biblical standard of 10%. Remember: we own nothing; all belongs to God. Stewardship of treasure is about learning to trust Him completely. Give Now
