Alguien que para ti es una bendición de que sea el padrino o la madrina de tu hijo. Criterios para que una persona pueda ser admitido como Padrino / Madrina, según el Canon 874, es necesario que: Sea elegido por quien va a bautizarse, por sus padres o por quienes ocupan su lugar, y que tenga la capacidad para esta misión e intención de desempeñarla. Haya cumplido dieciséis años. Sea católico, esté confirmado, haya recibido ya el Santísimo Sacramento de la Eucaristía y lleve al mismo tiempo, una vida congruente con la fe* y con la misión que va a asumir. No esté afectado por una pena canónica, legítimamente impuesta o declarada. No sea el padre o la madre de quien se ha de bautizar. Una persona bautizada que pertenece a una comunidad eclesial no católica no puede ser admitida como padrino, solo como testigo y junto con un padrino o madrina católico(a).
