About
Mission Statement: Inspired by Catholic teaching and Laudato Si’, our Creation Care Team is committed to educating, advocating, and guiding our community in living out the call to care for our common home. Together, we seek to embrace ecological responsibility and build a more just and sustainable future for all.
Key Initiatives: By realizing the impact of our daily actions, we will be better able to care for creation; the wonderful gift that God has given us. We can join together to live justly on Earth such that our Catholic community can make a difference in the problems our planet faces.
Check out Sr. Linda's presentation from our past session HERE! Linda Gibler, OP, PhD, is a Dominican Sister of Houston. She earned her MA (2001) and PhD (2007) at the California Institute of Integral Studies in Philosophy and Religion. Linda was the associate academic dean and associate professor of science and religion at the Oblate School of Theology for 14 years, but presently serves her Dominican Sister congregation as vicaress in Houston. She delights in telling the 14 billion-year story of the Universe, stars, and Earth, and continues to lecture widely.
Upcoming Events: Join us on Wednesday, October 29, at 7:30 PM in Domec Hall for our next SSJ University session, where a knowledgeable Catholic speaker will lead us in exploring the beauty of God’s Creation and our call to care for it.
After registering below, you will receive further information as well as an invitation to our monthly meetings and be kept directly informed of all upcoming events. To learn more, please email us at creationcareteam@gmail.com.
