What are Missions?

Holy Week Missions is an evangelization project that transforms the lives of missionaries, families, and the people whom we serve. Missionaries bring the message of Christ to the world during the most sacred weeks of our Catholic Church; Holy Week and Easter Week. SSJ organizes Holy Week missions coordinated by a group of parishioners, supported by Mission Youth. We have thousands of missionaries throughout the United States performing wonderful works of mercy.

What We Do for Missions

Evangelization and Service Missions: From helping with Easter Basket preparation, preparing and serving food for homeless at Loaves & Fishes (limited attendance), Sock and Shoes sorting and collection, clothes sorting, Door to Door, nursing home visits with Adopt a Grand-Parent, Cross Walk at Waterway and maintenance work of our parish… there are multiple ways to help and be part of our mercy missions.

Guardian Angel Closet

On Good Friday, we will be sorting clothes to curate a special clothing selection for families in need. Then, on Holy Saturday, we’ll host a full Kids’ Event featuring bounce houses, popcorn, ice cream, arts and crafts, and more. The families will also have the opportunity to receive their hand-picked clothes, offering them both practical support and a fun day for their children.

During Holy Week Missions, we will serve at H-Town Dream Center, Casa Bonita, and Nery’s Promise, three organizations dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities. H-Town Dream Center provides shelter, resources, and recovery programs for survivors of human trafficking and those in crisis. Casa Bonita offers transitional housing and support for women and children in need. Nery’s Promise serves underprivileged families by providing food, education, and essential resources. Join us as we bring hope and assistance to those who need it most!
