Cross Catholic Outreach

Rich Eimer

Cross Catholic Outreach is a worldwide Catholic ministry that brings relief and hope to the poorest of the poor in developing countries. By uniting parishes, schools, and individuals in works of mercy, Cross Catholic Outreach provides food, shelter, education, and spiritual support to families in need.

At Sts. Simon & Jude, we are proud to partner with Cross Catholic Outreach through parish-wide initiatives that not only transform lives overseas but also build community right here at home. Every effort supports our mission parish in Guatemala, making our connection both personal and impactful.

Food Packing Event

Each year, hundreds of parishioners come together for our Food Packing Event, an energetic, hands-on way to live out our faith. In just a few hours, volunteers of all ages pack thousands of nutrient-rich meals that are shipped directly to families in need. These meals provide hope in the most basic form—sustenance for children and parents who often do not know where their next meal will come from.

This joyful event is a chance for our parish community to work side by side, turning compassion into action.

Box of Joy

During the Advent season, our parish participates in Box of Joy, a Christmas outreach that brings gifts, school supplies, and personal care items to children living in extreme poverty. For many children, this small box filled with love is the only Christmas present they will receive.

By filling a Box of Joy, parishioners share not only material gifts but also the love of Christ, reminding children in Guatemala and beyond that they are seen, valued, and cherished.

Guatemala Mission Trip

Our parish’s partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach comes to life in a powerful way through the Guatemala Mission Trip. Parishioners travel to our mission parish in Guatemala to serve alongside local communities, build relationships, and share the Gospel.

This mission experience is more than a trip—it is an immersion into solidarity, faith, and service. Participants return home deeply moved, with renewed commitment to both global and parish outreach.

Living Our Mission Together

Through the Food Packing Event, Box of Joy, and the Guatemala Mission Trip, Sts. Simon & Jude’s partnership with Cross Catholic Outreach strengthens our mission to live the Gospel and serve those in need. Every meal packed, every gift box filled, and every mission trip undertaken helps bring Christ’s love to our brothers and sisters in Guatemala.

Together, we are putting faith into action and building the Kingdom of God—one act of mercy at a time.
