ACTS Retreat
ACTS Retreats for Men and Women offer a powerful weekend of prayer, community, and renewal. Rooted in Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service, these retreats help you deepen your relationship with Christ and connect more fully with others in the parish.

Cross Catholic Outreach
Cross Catholic Outreach partners with our parish to bring Christ’s love to those in need, especially our mission parish in Guatemala. Through our Food Packing Event, Box of Joy outreach, and annual Mission Trip, we provide meals, gifts, and personal support to families facing extreme poverty. Together, we live out the Gospel by turning faith into action and building hope for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Art & Environment
This ministry enhances the beauty of the sanctuary by preparing worship spaces for weekend, feast day, and holiday Masses.

Our Lady's Rosary Makers
Our Lady’s Rosary Makers meet twice a month to teach and make rosaries, sharing the mission of placing a rosary—and Mary’s love—in every hand.
SSJ Altar Linens Ministry
The Altar Linen Society reverently cares for and launders the sacred linens used during Mass.

Cub Scouts #204 ( Ages 5-11 or Grades K-5)
Cub Scouting is an exciting, hands-on adventure for kids of all grades, where they learn skills like knot-tying, camping, archery, and more—earning rewards along the way!

Money Counters
On a weekly basis, this group will gather and count the weekend's offertory and prepare it for deposit.

Lectors
Lectors proclaim God’s Word at Mass, helping bring Scripture to life for the faithful, with training offered year-round.

American Heritage Girls #204
AHG is a faith-based scouting program for girls ages 5-18 that encourages new challenges, service, friendship, and fun in a safe, supportive environment.

Newcomer Welcoming Ministry
Help welcome new parishioners by assisting with our Newcomer Lunches with Fr. Pat and introducing them to ways to get involved at SSJ.

Music Ministry
The Music Ministry leads the congregation in worship through song, serving as the choir at Mass and welcoming all who love to sing or play.

Adopt-a-Grandparent
Adopt-A-Grandparent Ministry brings joy to nursing home residents through visits filled with music, crafts, and celebration. Families can help by donating cards, gifts, or supporting seasonal events.

EMHC Visitation
Bring the comfort of Christ to those who are homebound or in care facilities by serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Baby Shower Drive
Our Baby Shower Drive supports the Gabriel Project, which walks alongside mothers who have courageously chosen life. Each fall and on Mother’s Day, we collect baby items to provide practical help and loving support to moms in need.

Guardian Angel Closet
The Guardian Angel Closet Ministry offers clothing to families in need within our parish and community.

DIGGERS@SSJ
The purpose of this ministry is to provide natural and beautiful spaces for parishioners and guests to walk, reflect, and pray as they make their way down the path toward Apostleship.

CCO Food Packing
Join us for our Cross Catholic Outreach Food Packing Event, where volunteers of all ages come together to pack life-saving meals for children and families in need around the world. It’s a hands-on way to live out our call to serve.

Creation Care Ministry
The Creation Care Team inspires our parish to live out Catholic teaching by caring for God’s creation through education, advocacy, and sustainable action.

Boy Scouts #204
The Boy Scouts of America helps young people develop ethical and moral values through the Scout Oath and Law, supported by trained youth and adult leaders.

Emergency Management Volunteers
SSJ partners with the American Red Cross as a key Montgomery County shelter, providing housing and support during disasters, and is seeking trained volunteers to help.

Celebration of Life Ministry
Celebration of Life Ministry provides free funeral receptions at SSJ for grieving families. Volunteers are needed to help prepare, set up, and serve food—offering comfort and compassion through hospitality at a time of loss.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
Each November, our Junior High Edge students lead our Thanksgiving Food Drive, assembling baskets filled with holiday essentials to bless families in need with a warm and joyful Thanksgiving meal.

Sts. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
“Giving aid to those in need”
Together, we are the hands and feet of Jesus, doing His work and serving those He dearly loves. Sharing our gifts is a clear demonstration that people of faith are never alone. When serve God and our Church by serving the poor, we really do make a difference!
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, age 18 and confirmed, assist in distributing the Eucharist during Mass.

Altar Server Ministry
The Altar Server Ministry is open to those who have received First Holy Communion and assists during Mass, with training offered throughout the year.

Food Drive
Help us feed families in need! Our Food Drive supports both Holy Week Missions and the Freedom Festival Day of Service by collecting items for Easter baskets and picnic baskets. Let’s share the joy of a meal with those who need it most!
Sacristan
Sacristans prepare the church for Mass, ensuring all liturgical items are in place, and serve with experience and mature faith.

Gabriel Project
Become a Gabriel Angel and walk alongside a mother in need, offering compassion, prayer, and support during her pregnancy.

SSJ Gift Shop Volunteers
The SSJ Gift Shop in Room 3-4 offers Catholic gifts and is run by volunteers—join us and help out after Mass!

Adult Servers
Adult Altar Servers, age 18 and confirmed, assist at Mass with reverence and receive training throughout the year.

Clothes Drive
Help us clothe children in need! Our Clothing Drive, in partnership with the Guardian Angel Closet, supports our Holy Week Missions and Freedom Festival Day of Service. We’re collecting new and gently used children’s clothing—join us in making a difference!

Blood Drive
Give the gift of life! Our Blood Drive, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, takes place in the SSJ parking lot after Sunday Masses in the fall and spring. A simple act of service that makes an extraordinary difference.

Usher
Ushers, age 16 and up, offer a warm welcome and assist with seating, collections, and bulletins at Mass.

Wedding Rehersal Coordinators
Help couples prepare for their big day by guiding wedding rehearsals—no experience needed, just a love for weddings and a willingness to serve!

A/V Ministry Mass Technicians
Help everyone see and hear the beauty of the Mass by joining our Audio-Visual Team—training is simple, and you can learn at your own pace!

Acolyte
Instituted Acolytes assist the priest and deacon at the altar, support the distribution of Holy Communion, and help with liturgical formation, serving with reverence and deep understanding of the Mass.

Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer your time and talent to ‘build a world where everyone has a place to live.’

Box of Joy
Box of Joy is a simple way to bring Christmas to children in need. Partnering with Cross Catholic Outreach, we fill shoeboxes with small gifts and necessities and send them to our mission parish in Guatemala. Join us in spreading joy!

Angel Tree
The Angel Tree is our annual Christmas outreach where parishioners choose a child’s angel from the Plaza, shop for their gift, and return the donation to help make a child’s Christmas brighter. Volunteers then wrap the gifts and host a special celebration where the children come to SSJ, enjoy a fun-filled day, and receive their presents with joy and love.

Campus Clean-up
Join us for our Campus Clean-Up as we come together to care for our parish home! Help us clean the church, tend the gardens, and freshen up our shared spaces while building community through service.

Funeral Team
The Funeral Team supports grieving families by preparing for funerals, creating announcements, and coordinating schedules to ensure a meaningful and reverent liturgy.
Respect Life
Join the Respect Life Ministry to support and pray for every life from conception to natural death through education, advocacy, and compassionate care.
Rice Bowl
Each Lent, we invite families to participate in CRS Rice Bowl, a simple way to practice prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. The small donations collected help support those in need both locally and around the world.
Mass Greeter
Welcome parishioners with a warm smile as a Mass Greeter and help create a friendly, inviting atmosphere as they arrive for worship.

Hands with Heart
The HANDS with HEART Ministry creates handcrafted items, like prayer blankets, to share comfort and Christian love with those in need.

Kid's Meals Food Packing Event & Service Drive
All through September, we’re collecting kid-friendly items to prepare meals for children in our community. Bring donations to the plaza after all weekend Masses in September or to the parish office during the week.

Holy Week Missions
Step into Holy Week with purpose. Join us for a series of mission opportunities — both at SSJ and in the community — designed to help you serve, reflect, and grow closer to Christ. Open to all ages with special tracks for youth and children. Make this Holy Week one of encounter and action.
